D’Tigress bow out of Olympics after valiant effort against USA
Nigeria women’s basketball team D’Tigress have bowed out of the Olympic Games after putting up a fantastic performance against world number one team, USA.
The Nigerian ladies ended their journey on a high as they secured a fourth-quarter dominance over the United States, who had dominated the first three quarters.
The United States have now advanced to the semifinal of the competition after beating Nigeria 88-74 despite being outscored 26-12 in the last quarter.

The Rena Wakama girls will leave the competition with their heads up high having become the first African team (men and women) to make it to the quarter-finals of the Olympics.
D’Tigress had started off their campaign on a great note as they stunned Australia in their opening group game.
They were however beaten in their second group game against hosts France before bouncing back to defeat Canada in their final group game to advance to the quarter-finals.
