D’Tigress qualify for first-ever Olympic quarterfinals
Nigeria women’s basketball team D’Tigress have qualified for the quarter-finals of the event at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Nigerian ladies reached the last eight after defeating Canada 79-70 in their final group game on Sunday.
The Rena Wakama girls started their campaign with a thrilling victory over Australia to break a 20-year Olympic jinx.

They went on to face the hosts France in their second group game but fell by over 20 points. The Nigerian ladies have now bounced back against Canada to advance.
D’Tigress, Afrobasket giants, made the quarterfinal feat even more spectacular as they saw off World number 5 Canada to stay in the women’s basketball competition.
