Duke dumps PDP, officially declares for President
A former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke has declared his intention to contest for the 2019 presidential election.
Duke is however going to be seeking the ticket of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the presidential election, as he has also announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Duke was governor of Cross River State under the PDP between 1999 and 2007, where he remained until his defection on Tuesday.
This is not his first attempt at being president, as he failed in a previous bid in 2015.
