Eagles’ defence gives Siasia great concern

Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, said losing two first team defenders ahead of the crucial double header against Egypt is a great concern for the team.

The Eagles will face the Pharaohs on Friday in Kaduna while the second leg is scheduled for Alexandria, Egypt on Tuesday.

Mainz 05 of Germany defender, Leon Balogun and Kasımpaşa of Turkey defender, Kenneth Omeruo, have been ruled out against of the game against Pharaohs of Egypt on Friday due to injury.

“I am worried especially for the loss of two of the invited players, Omeruo and Balogun, but we have to make do with those we have,” Siasia said during a  television programme monitored in Lagos on Monday.

“We have to work on the full backs, on how to attack without losing their defensive work, learn how to attack and score goals upfront.

“We have been working on that and see how we are going to do that with the foreign-based players which are coming in, ” he added.
