Eagles player, Ogude’s wife kidnapped in Warri

Super Eagles midfielder, Fegor Ogude’s wife, Maimunat Ogude, was kidnapped by armed gunmen in Warri, Delta State on Monday night.

According to an online report, the Amkar Perm of Russia player’s wife was abducted in his home in the presence of their kids.

“I wasn’t home yesterday (Monday), my wife Maimunat went out with my kids and barely two hours that I left the house, my younger brother Ogaga called me to say that some armed men came to the house to take my wife away,” the midfielder was quoted as saying.

“I was told that they threw my kids out of the car and just took my wife away in my car.

“Immediately I heard this, I went to the Police station to report. And after making the report, I tried to trace them to see if by chance I could get the direction they went to. But I could not.”

He however said the kidnappers had not contacted him or any of his family members. He said the car she was kidnapped with was found in Ughelli, a town close to Warri.

Ogude is a Nigeria international and was part of the Super Eagles team that won the 2013 AFCON in South Africa. He was also in the squad that represented the country at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup. He has 16 caps for Nigeria.
