Nigeria’s Super Eagles showed the Pharaohs of Egypt what to expect when both clash in the 2017 Nations Cup qualifier by defeating the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 3-0 in an international friendly played in Belgium on Sunday.
The Egyptians also defeated Zambia 3-0 in a warm up match on Sunday to prepare for the clash against Nigeria billed for March 2016.
Coming from last Thursday’s 2-0 defeat against Congo DR, Ambrose Efe, Moses Simon and Odion Ighalo scored Nigeria’s goals in the game played at Brussels’ Stade Edmond Machtens
Efe could however had quite easily been the villain on 34 minutes after he almost put a back pass past Carl Ikeme in the Nigerian goal after the goalkeeper rushed out of his area to prevent a Cameroonian attack. But the ball narrowly went past the gaping Nigerian goal for a corner kick.

Four minutes later though, from a well floated John Obi Mikel free kick, Efe was on hand to beat Cameroonian goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa to the ball and head the Super Eagles into the lead and make up for his earlier near blunder.
Cameroon skipper Stephane Mbia was given a red card for a second bookable offence a minute into the second half and on the hour mark Simon, after latching onto a brilliant through ball from skipper Ahmed Musa, went past Sebastian Bassong before releasing a left-footed shot past Ondoa to increase Nigeria’s lead.
And just when it seemed like the game was going to end 2-0 in favour of the Super Eagles, substitute Ighalo latched onto a cross from the left to make it 3-0 two minutes from the end.
