Eaglets in high spirit for Congo duel – official

Following the announcement that the suspension slammed on Nigeria by FIFA is going to be lifted, life has returned to the Golden Eaglets camp in Camp as they excitedly bubbled for the July 27 rescheduled first leg, second round CAN Under-17 championship fixture against Democratic Republic of Congo.
A visit by our reporter to the Princeville hotel in Calabar where the team is camped suggested this.
Speaking to reporters, the Media Officer of the team, Morankinyo Abodurin, the mood in camp is great and nothing has really changed in our attitude since we came into Calabar and in spite of the FIFA suspension.
He said the team has put behind anxieties which followed the suspension and are in good mood to travel to Lumumbashi within the week to defeat the Congo DR starlets.
Abodurin said that they were awaiting logistics to travel out for the match.
“We are in a good mood to take on the U-17 team from Congo DR and Nigerians should know that we are condemned to succeed if you permit me to use such words.
“We are the defending champions of the world and runners up in Africa at this level among other pedigree. The coaching crew, players and officials know that Nigerians will not be pleased if we do not do well.”
According to the media officer, the team has trained well but that it is now left for the players and the God’s grace to crown their efforts.
What has further keep up the morale of the team is that some of the players did not know anything about the FIFA suspension, Abodurin explained.
