Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, said Wednesday 700 persons had been arrested for allegedly entering the state illegally despite the ban on interstate travel.

Umahi, who disclosed this after a joint meeting of the State Security Council and COVID-19 Committee, said the violators who were arrested across the state are currently being quarantined at the Pa Oruta Ngele Township Stadium in Abakaliki.

He said the state government would decentralize the quarantine procedure to the 64 Development Centres and the 13 local government areas of the state.
