EBONYI: Sen. Ogbuoji plotting with INEC to allot 200,000 votes to APC during guber poll- PDP alleges

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been accused of planning to rig the governorship election in Ebonyi state in favour of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Sonni Ogbuoji.

This allegation was made on Monday by, Chief Emmanuel Igwe, the Campaign coordinator of Governor David Umuahi who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Igwe said INEC had completed plans to allocate 200,000 votes to the APC before the election.

He encouraged the people of the state to remain resolute and cast their votes without intimidation.

A statement by Igwe in Abakaliki, said, “It has come to my knowledge the devilish plan of the Gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress, in Ebonyi State, Senator Sunny Ogbuorji in liaison with some top ranking officials of INEC to pre allocate two hundred thousand votes to the APC guber candidate ahead of the election.

“This is being done through printing of PVCs by one senatorial candidate of APC in one of the North Central State whose company is been used to perfect the impunity.

“In their own thinking they want to allocate and spread two hundred thousand votes within some selected polling units. we are aware of the slush fund that have been mapped out for this act which will serve as a bribe to INEC officials and certain corrupt security operatives.

“Ebonyians should feel free to cast their votes as all necessary efforts will be made to protect the sanctity of the ballot.”
