Economy: Buhari wants to borrow N2.1tn

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sent a 2015 supplementary appropriation bill to the Senate for approval.

Bauhri wrote the Senate to approve of a proposal to borrow N2.10 trillion to finance the budget.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki who read the president’s letter during plenary, said that the N882 billion loan earlier proposed by the past government to finance the budget had to be raised to N2.10 trillion, due to emerging realities in the country.

The source of the loan, according to the president, would be both local and foreign.
