Edo 2016: Ize-Iyamu’s wife rallies support for hubby with free cancer screening

Ahead of the September 10 governorship election in Edo State, Dr. (Mrs) Idia Ize-Iyamu, wife of the PDP candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has implored all women in the state to cast their vote for PDP.

Dr. (Mrs) Ize-Iyamu, said this while conducting a free cervical cancer screening for women in Fate Medical Centre, Auchi, which she said would go a long way in helping to reduce the burden of medical care in the state.

The Ize-Iyamu Campaign Organisation, which stated this in a statement signed by Tenet Iredia Iyamu, said Dr. (Mrs) Ize-Iyamu also conducted free high blood pressure test and other related ailments peculiar to women.

The consultant Orthodonist and senior lecturer at Preventive Dentistry University of Benin, said that the true liberation of Edo people from the burden of hunger and ill health begins with the less privileged, especially women.

She noted that it was the fundamental duty of a responsible government to identify itself with the hopes and aspirations of the people and implored all women in the state to cast their vote for the husband, Pastor Ize-Iyamu, whom she vouched for will not disappoint Edo people.

Idia Ize-Iyamu, frowned at the closing down of the state’s school of nursing by the present All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state and lack of basic facilities in government hospital, which she said has brought untold hardship to the people.

She promised that a PDP government under Ize-Iyamu in the state will prioritise healthcare of the people.

Idia Ize-Iyamu’s free medical screening and treatment by a team of doctors led by Dr. A.P Osemwenkha, a UBTH consultant, is said to have attended to hundreds of women who thronged to Fate Medical Centre, Auchi for the free screening and treatment.
