Trouble brews in Taraba APC as faction denies list for appointment into Buhari's cabinet

Hoodlums numbering about 50 on Tuesday reportedly attacked no fewer than 14 lawmakers-elect of Edo State alongside the younger brother of the National chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr Seidu Oshiomhole.

The lawmakers were ambushed where they were holding a meeting in Benin when the hoodlums stormed the place and descended upon them.

It was gathered that the lawmakers meeting was coming due to the inauguration of nine of their colleagues on Monday night where Frank Okiye was elected the Speaker.

It would be recalled that nine out of the 24-man Assembly members met to elect a speaker in what was seen as a recipe for crisis in the state.

The ongoing crisis in the state assembly may not be unconnected with the supposed rift between Governor Godwin Obaseki and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole.
