LAGOS: Agbaje says Sanwo-Olu represents 6th term for Tinubu

Lagosians of Edo extraction, especially members of Ibhiedo NE R’ Eko are set to address the dwindling role they have played in the political affairs of Lagos State over the years.

To address the anomaly, the Central Working Committee of the organisation will stage a Town Hall meeting and interactive session with Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the convener, Chief Ewie Aimienwauu, aside addressing the dwindling role Edo indigenes have played in the political affairs of Lagos State, the Town Hall meeting will begin a process of engaging various stakeholders in Lagos State and to offer support where the interest of members will be represented and protected.

Chief Ewie said; “In recent times especially in the post-colonial era, Edo indigenes have played a dwindling role in the political affairs of Lagos.

“This is why we have decided to come together as partners in progress with other ethnic groups contributing daily to the legendary advancement of Lagos State as it prepares to be the third largest economy in Africa by 2020, only after countries like Algeria, Angola, Nigeria, Egypt and South Africa.”

“We hope to press for increased recognition of our contributions socio-culturally, economically and a vibrant participation in the political affairs of the State now and in the future,” he added.

Scheduled to hold on the 2nd of February, the meeting will also afford Edo indigenes to meet, greet, ask questions and get first hand answers on issues that pertain to Edo progress in Lagos State from the APC gubernatorial flagbearer.
