EFCC arrests 13 suspected illegal miners in Abuja
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 13 persons for alleged illegal mining in Abuja.
The commission said in a statement posted on its X handle on Friday, the suspects were arrested in the Asokoro area of Abuja on Wednesday.
The operation, according to the EFCC, followed credible intelligence on the suspects’ activities.

The statement read: “The suspects were intercepted and arrested following credible intelligence linking them with the transportation of tons of coal and kaolin in five trucks from Nasarawa State to a site in Kaduna State.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
