EFCC arrests Mompha's Lebanese accomplice in Lagos apartment

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of a Lebanese, Hamza Koudeih and two other suspected accomplices of social media celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha (a.k.a. Mompha).

Koudeih was arrested at the weekend after a three-hour stand-off with the EFCC operatives at his N1.8 billion luxury apartment on the 33-storey Eko Atlantic Pearl Tower, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The arrest of the Lebanese followed intelligence gathered by EFCC officials who arrested Mompha on October 18 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, while on his way to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Mompha, Koudeih and the others arrested by the EFCC are suspected to be kingpins of a cyber-fraud syndicate who laundered N33 billion through three firms.
