EFCC 'gifts' another Badeh's seized property to NEDC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, donated a 13-bedroom, one-storey building and a basement, seized from the late Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, to the management of North-East Development Commission, NEDC, in Abuja.

The property was forfeited by the late defence chief on the order of the court in the course of his prosecution by the EFCC for money laundering and corruption.

The expansive mansion is located on 6 Ogun River Street, Maitama, Abuja.

The EFCC Director of Operations, Muhammed Umar, performed the handing over on behalf of the acting Chairman of the anti-graft agency, Ibrahim Magu.

Magu, who congratulated NEDC staff and management over the structure, urged them to maximize the usage for the benefit of the NEDC and the country.

In his response, NEDC Chairman, Maj. Gen. Paul Tarfa, (retd.), promised to cooperate with the EFCC and the Federal Government in the fight against corruption.

It would be recalled that the EFCC had last month donated a building in Wuse, Abuja, seized from the late former CDS to the Voice of Nigeria as its corporate headquarters.
