The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has sealed a building under-construction linked to fleeing former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina.
The commission disclosed this in a tweet on its twitter handle.
The tweet read, “The #EFCC … sealed a building under construction located at 5 Sokoto Road, adjacent Zamfara State Govs Lodge in Kaduna, traced to Abdulrasheed Maina, ex-chairman, Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, who is wanted for diverting pension funds.”
Since the dismissal of Maina after his return to Nigeria and controversial reinstatement into the Federal Civil Service was uncovered, the EFCC has sealed seven of his property in Kaduna State alone.
However, the anti-graft agency, which has been ordered by lawmakers to fish out Maina from wherever he is hiding and prosecute him, has been unable to provide answers to the whereabouts of the fugitive erstwhile pension boss.
Maina was indicted of N2 billion pension fund scam in 2013 and was subsequently declared wanted by the EFCC following his refusal to honour court and Senate summons.
He was however, controversially reinstated but got dismissed again by President Muhammadu Buhari following public outcry.
