Super Eagles main contender in Group G of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Egypt, have concluded plans to play against Zambia and Senegal in international friendly games in October as part of preparations for next March’s AFCON qualifiers against Nigeria.

Both sides will meet twice in March 2016 in games that would likely decide who secures the group’s sole automatic ticket to the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.

The Pharaohs are scheduled to take on Senegal on October 8, and then face Zambia three days later, on October 11.

Nigeria will also be in Belgium between October 8 and 11 for friendly games against DR Congo and Cameroon.

The Pharaohs currently top Group G with six points from two matches while the Super Eagles are two points behind.

Egypt, the most successful nation in the history of the continent’s biggest football tournament, have not qualified for the last three AFCON tournaments, while Nigeria missed out on the last edition in 2015 in Equatorial Guinea, two years after securing a third AFCON title.
