The convoy of Emir of Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad was reportedly attacked on Friday, with eight people killed, and other injured.

Unknown gunmen on Friday attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad-Asha, killing eight including police officers.

The Zamfarav Emir, a retired army major, was ambushed along the Zaria-Funtua highway.

Ripples Nigeria gathered that the monarch and his wife were able to escape unscathed.

The accident, according to an eyewitness who escaped during the attack, “The Emir’s convoy was ambushed by the suspected gunmen along Zaria-Funtua highway while returning to Gusau from Abuja.

“The Emir was coming back to Zamfara from Abuja in the midnight in a convoy of his official vehicles.”

Zamfara State Police was yet to react to the incident as at the time of filing this report.
