EKITI 2018: Fayose’s Chief of Staff quits, accuses gov of lacking integrity

Chief of Staff to the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose’, Dipo Anisulowo, has accused him of destroying the state’s chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He has consequently resigned his position.
Anisulowo, said in the quit letter he made available to newsmen, “I am at dismay on the political arrangement by Mr. governor aiming to divide Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State.

“Same Fayose told all stakeholders in Abuja just before the 2014 elections that he will leave with his deputy in 2018. This sudden change of goal post in the middle of the game is not Integrity.”

According to Anisulowo, a copy of the resignation letter had already been forwarded to the governor and it takes immediate effect.

A former national spokesman of the PDP, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who is aspiring to become the next governor of the state, along with some other governorship aspirants on the party’s platform have been at loggerheads with Fayose since the governor adopted his deputy, Professor Kolapo Olusola, as his successor.

The aspirants accused Fayose of violating the party’s constitution by planning to impose his deputy as the flag bearer of the party for the July 2018 governorship election in the state.

There are speculations that more people in the state government, who are not happy with the governor’s alleged imposition of his deputy as his successor, may still resign in the days ahead.
