A running mate for Kayode Fayemi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the July 14 governorship election has emerged.

Chief Adebisi Adegboyega Egbeyemi, a former executive chairman of Ado-Ekiti Local Government area of the state was announced as the running mate for Fayemi in a statement released by John Kayode Fayemi (JFK) Campaign Organisation late Wednesday night.

According to JKF Campaign office in Ado-Ekiti, Egbeyemi was picked as the candidate after party leaders met for long hours to consider who is best suited to pair with the former governor, who had this week resigned his position as Minister of Mines and Steel Development to pursue his governorship ambition.

Wole Olujobi, who signed the statement, noted that Egbeyemi’s choice came after rumors that certain eminent indigenes of the state had been picked to fly the ticket with Fayemi.
