Ekiti PDP Dep gov candidate, 3 lawmakers allegedly arrested

Ayodele Fayose, Fayose on EFCC summon, Fayose on EFCC efforts to nail him

Deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Deji Ogunsakin, is said to have been arrested by the Nigerian Police.

Governor Ayodele Fayose who raised an alarm over the incident early Friday, alleged that three members of the State House of Assembly were also arrested.

The governor wrote in a statement on his Twitter handle,

”Ekiti under siege again!

”Presently, the residence of PDP Deputy governorship candidate, Kazeem Deji Ogunsakin has been invaded by armed policemen.

”Three house of Assembly members have been arrested too. Whereabouts unknown yet!”

Similarly, Fayose’s Special Adviser on Public Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka, also said in a tweet, ”Siege has started again!

”Ekiti Election: PDP Deputy governorship candidate, Deji Ogunsakin, three assembly members – Wale Ayeni, Dr Samuel Omotoso, Musa Arogundade arrested by the police.”

Police had also on Wednesday allegedly attacked Fayose at the Ekiti State Government House.

The governor had claimed that the policeman, who were said to have disrupted a PDP rally at an event close to the government house, slapped, and shot at him.
