EKITI POLLS: Ex-Gov Adebayo says Fayose, PDP an accident that won’t happen again

The emergence of Ayodele Fayose as the governor of Ekiti has been described as one that happened by accident.

A former governor of the state, Niyi Adebayo stated this when he was asked by newsmen to comment on the chances of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming 2018 governorship election in Ekiti State currently in control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He was accosted by the newsmen in Abuja soon after the inauguration of a four-member strategic committee, led by him and set up by APC to do a forensic analysis of the reasons the party lost the Anambra State governorship election in November 2017.

In APC chances in Ekiti come 2018, he said, “Basically, I believe the present governor got there surely by accident and I believe people are more than ready to change the place.

“Pertinently, I am somebody from Ekiti and the key player in Ekiti. I can tell you categorically that we are more than ready. I am sure that you’ve all heard that we are ready for elections in Ekiti.

“I believe all we have to do is to go through the process of selecting our candidate and once we have our candidate, I don’t see us having any problems in the general elections in Ekiti.”

Commenting on the Anambra assignment, Adebayo said the committee will seek answers to why APC lost the poll, make recommendations and submit its report to the party for implementation so that APC will get better results in the 2019 general elections.
