Ekweremadu fumes, calls for Kanu’s release, Igbo inclusion in governance

Nigeria Senate Deputy President, Ike Ekweremadu, has said there was no way there will be peace in Nigeria with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) remaining in detention despite ruling by courts of competent jurisdiction that he should be released.

While he called on the Federal Government to immediately release Kanu, he added that Ndigbo must have to be included in the governance of Nigeria.

Ekweremadu who stated this on Thursday during the South East Economic and Security Summit at Government House, Enugu State, frowned at the continued detention of Kanu and other pro-Biafra agitators, describing their travails as part of the ways Nigerian government continues to marginalise the Igbo race.

According to the Senate Deputy President, “there is no way there will be peace in Nigeria” without the inclusion of Ndigbo in governance, wondering how no Igbo man was included in the security council of the nation which shows that Ndigbo are being shoved aside in Nigeria.
