El-Rufai to forgo 50% salary, as Ambode creates wealth ministry

Soon after being sworn in as Kaduna State 22nd Goovernor, by the Chief Justice of Kaduna state, Justice Tanimu Zailani on Friday, Mallam Nasir El Rufai addressed the state and said he was contributing 50% of his salary and allowances to Kaduna as a mark of his sacrifice. He said that his deputy, Arc. Balla Barnabas Bantex had also agreed to make the same sacrifice.

He however warned that it was a gesture he would also expect from  citizens of the state when called upon to do so.

Meanwhile, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State at his inauguration on Friday creation three offices to project his development plan for the state.

The governor, during his inaugural speech at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, announced the creation of the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment and Office of Civic Engagement.

Ambode explained that the initiative was in line with his campaign promises and would enable him to execute his planned employment trust fund, labour exchange and entrepreneurship drive for Lagosians.
