Elections over, Supreme Court affirms Duke as SDP presidential candidate

The Supreme Court in Abuja on Friday upheld the Court of Appeal judgment that declared Donald Duke as the candidate of the Social Democratic Party(SDP) in the last presidential election.

The five-man members of the Supreme Court that delivered the judgement also awarded N3 million in favour of Duke.

Duke approached the Appeal Court after an FCT High Court disqualified him as the party’s flag bearer.

Prof. Jerry Gana had contended the victory of Duke in the the party’s primary election held on October 2018.

Duke lost the case at the lower court but won at the Court of Appeal. He also lost the presidential contest.
