Elon Musk offers $47 incentive to U.S. voters for petition signatures

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has launched a new initiative aimed at incentivizing registered U.S. voters to gather signatures for a petition advocating for free speech and the right to bear arms.

Targeting key swing states, this program seeks to enhance political engagement in the lead-up to the elections.

“For every person you refer who is a swing state voter, you get $47! Easy money,” Musk shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

The petition is hosted on the website of Musk’s America PAC, a political action committee with the goal of collecting one million signatures from voters in crucial battleground states. This PAC, which includes backing from various tech entrepreneurs, was established to support former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

The petition underscores the importance of upholding the First and Second Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning speech, religion, press, and assembly, while the Second Amendment safeguards the right to bear arms.

Musk recently appeared at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he publicly endorsed Trump’s campaign. During his address, he warned that this could be “the last election” if Trump does not win, while also addressing concerns that Democrats may seek to limit Americans’ rights related to free speech and gun ownership.

In another post, Musk stated, “Sign our petition to support the Constitution! Also earn $47 for every person you refer to sign the petition if they’re in a swing state. Goal is to get 1M voters in swing states to show support for free speech & right to bear arms.”
