Embattled Onnoghen joins Buhari, Osibanjo at 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance day

President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, were joined by the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) to celebrate the 2019 armed forces remembrance day.

Onnoghen was sighted in a suit among other dignitaries clad in “Babaringa” at the National Arcade in the Three Arms Zone in Abuja, venue of the ceremony.

Every January 15 has been marked out to celebrate soldiers who died fighting for the unity and peace of Nigeria.

The event which saw the laying of wreaths began at about 11a.m with the President inspecting the guard of honour while Christian and Muslim prayers were also said in honour of the fallen heroes.

Other top government officials present included the outgoing Inspector-General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, Chief of Defence Staff, Dan Musur-Ali and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Mohammed Bello among others.
