Nigeria international striker Emmanuel Emenike is expected to join the Super Eagles’ training camp in Abuja on Monday after overcoming his injury concerns to and playing for Al Ain in a League Cup game against Al Jazira on Friday.
He is now expected to join the Super Eagles training camp in Abuja on Monday ahead of an AFCON clash in Tanzania on September 5.
The Fenerbahce loanee, who suffered muscle complaint which made him miss the Gulf League opening match last week Friday, featured for Al Ain in a 2-2 draw at Al Jazira and was on for the better part of the game.
On Friday, Emenike lasted for 82nd minute when he was replaced with Rayan Yaslam Mohammed.
Al Ain came back from 2-0 down to snatch a point off hosts.
Ryan Babel’s pass meant for Emenike in the 41st minute was cut off by Al Jazira defender.
Al Ain are fourth in Group B with a point from one game.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama, on Sunday celebrated his 33rd birthday with his third clean sheet of this season’s Ligue 1 campaign in Lille’s 1-0 win at home to GFC Ajaccio.
Enyeama, who made a string of brilliant saves, has conceded only one goal in four games for Les Dogues.
In Russia, Super Eagles midfielder, Lukman Haruna, returned to action from suspension to power Anzhi Makhachkala to their first win of the season away to Spartak Moscow.
Haruna, who arrived from Dynamo Kyiv at the start of the season, has made five appearances in the Russian league and scored once. He was replaced by Ivan Maewski at half time.
