In from Nifemi Daniel . . .
Head coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, has expressed shock over Emmanuel Emenike’s retirement.
Oliseh, who revealed to Brila FM on Wednesday, that he never discussed dropping Emenike from the team, with anyone, said the Nigerian forward never gave indications that he was going to quit and that he (Oliseh) was surprised to hear that Emenike has retired from the national team.
Oliseh also said he called the Fernabache loaner to verify if the story about his retirement was true only for him not to pick his calls.
“I was shocked and don’t know how that came about. When I first saw it I did not believe it until people started commenting on it.”
