The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has replied the query given to him by the Kano State Government.
The query was given to the emir on Thursday through the office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Alhaji Usman Alhaji.
Sanusi was issued the query over alleged misappropriation of N3.4bn by the Kano Emirate Council.
But in his response to the query, Sanusi in a letter signed by Abba Yusuf, acting secretary of Kano Emirate Council, on Saturday explained that the amount was just over N1.8 billion which he inherited from the coffers of the Emirate Council.
The Media Aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, who announced this on Saturday, confirmed that the letter containing the reply by Sanusi was received within the stipulated time frame of 48 hours as stated in the query.
According to him, “The Kano Emirate Council has officially responded to the query issued to Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II by the Kano State Government through the office of the SSG Alhaji Usman Alhaji. The letter was received within the stipulated time frame of 48hrs as stated in the query.”
