End of the road for 19 suspected kidnappers in Bauchi

The long arm of the law has caught up with 19 suspected kidnappers after they were arrested by men of the Bauchi State Police Command at various locations in the state.

According to reports, three of the suspected kidnappers were arrested after a well coordinated operation in Yuga forest, a notorious hideout for kidnappers in Toro LGA.

One suspect was picked up in Jimi village of Darazo LGA, one in Tama District of Toro LGA, two in Ningi LGA, three in Kundum of Bauchi LGA, three in Giwa hamlet of Toro, and three suspects in Ganjuwa LGA

Another suspect was arrested in Tashan Durumi in Toro LGA while two others were arrested from Alkaleri LGA of the state.

A statement by the State Police Command also revealed that a suspected informer and negotiator for the kidnappers in Gilliri Village of Bauchi LGA was also arrested while forty eight hostages were rescued in good health while efforts are being intensified to apprehend other fleeing suspects.

While parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters in Bauchi, exhibits such as eight AK 47 Rifles, one AK 49 Rifle, one G3 Rifle, two Automatic Pump Action, one double barrel gun, one Single Barrel gun, one Sub Machine gun, one Locally made Pistol, six Machetes, eleven Magazines, forty Nine (49) Cartridges, nineteen (19) ammunition of LAR rifle, three Hundred, thirty (330) assorted Ammunition and the sum of three hundred and eighty eight thousand one hundred and ninety Naira (#388,190.00) were all recovered from the suspects.
