Enugu APC suspends chairman

Published

on

Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the indefinite suspension of its chairman, Barr. Ben Nwoye.

The announcement came after the State Working Committee meeting of the party on Monday presided over by the deputy chairman, Mr. A.C Udeh. The meeting was held at the party’s secretariat in the state.

Nwoye’s suspension was sequel to allegations bordering on abuse of office leveled against him by the state executive members.

Among other things they accused the suspended chairman of running the party as his personal enterprise as well as engaging in financial misappropriation.

However, the suspended chairman has described the action of the state executive of the party as an exercise in futility.

He argued that it was carried out in total breach of Article 21 of the APC constitution.
