ENUGU: Cattle breeders close markets, plan to weed out 'infiltrators'

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Enugu State chapter and the Northern Leaders, Livestock and Perishable Goods Market, have both announced the closure of the livestock and perishable goods market in Enugu State.

The announcement of the market closure which will be for two days was made at a press briefing jointly addressed by the leaders of the two associations in Enugu, on Saturday.

The leaders of both groups; Siddki and Sarki A.Y. Sambo, at the joint briefing said they were appreciative of the peaceful co-existence between their members and the people of Enugu State, and as such would not allow anyone to jeopardize it.

They revealed that business will not be open on Wednesday and Thursday next week to allow members of both groups to carry out sensitisation visits to all the places of business and settlement of their members as part of their collaborative effort with the State Government and security agencies towards peace and security.
