Enugu govt to carry out autopsy on slain pregnant woman

The Enugu State Government has directed the Management of ESUT Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu, to immediately carry out an autopsy on the remains of a pregnant woman, Mrs Regina Mba, who was killed by unknown assailants on Thursday.

Mrs Mba, a native of Nchatancha Nike community in Enugu East Local Government Area of the state, was killed while returning from the farm.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, said the medical exercise was to assist the security agencies in their ongoing investigations.

The woman’s protruding belly was said to have been ripped open, alarming the community.

The deceased was alleged to have been killed by Fulani herdsmen in Emene area of the state.
