Gunmen again struck in Enugu State as the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Lands, Mr. Ude Augustine Okey, was kidnapped on Sunday.
According to reports, the permanent secretary was kidnapped along Enugu-Awgu road.
A source in the ministry revealed that the gunmen had contacted the family of the abducted permanent secretary, demanding for a N50 million ransom.

Confirming the development, the spokesman of the state police command, Ebere Amaraizu said that the police had commenced investigation into the matter.
According to him, the police was working to get Okey released unhurt.
He said: “We are working to get the Permanent Secretary released unhurt and he will soon be released.”
