Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun was in action for Brighton and Hove Albion who defeated Manchester United 3-2 in a Premier League encounter at Amex Stadium on Sunday.

Balogun, who joined the club before the start of the season, was making his first competitive appearance and was brought on for Lewis Dunk who was forced off in the 20th minute.

The home side capitalised on a poor start from United to take the lead on 25 minutes, when Glenn Murray scored from Solly March’s low cross, and doubled their lead just two minutes after by Shane Duffy.

Romelu Lukaku halved the deficit 11 minutes before the break, but Brighton restored their two-goal advantage with a penalty by Gross just before halftime.

United looked to complete a comeback as they improved marginally after the break, but could only get a goal in injury time when Paul Pogba netted a penalty.

The hosts held on to their lead and successfully secured all three points.

With the victory, Brighton have now beaten Manchester United in three successive home league games.
