EPL: Moses, Ndidi in action as Chelsea thrash Stoke, Liverpool fight back against Leicester

Super Eagles forward, Victor Moses was on from the start for Chelsea as they cruised to a 5-0 victory against Stoke City in a Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Moses was later taken off in the second half, at 3-0, for Davide Zappacosta, who came in and scored the final goal.

Struggling Stoke trailed within three minutes when Antonio Rudiger headed home Willian’s free-kick, and were already 2-0 down in the 9th minute when Danny Drinkwater fired home on the bounce from 25 yards out.

Pedro added a third from just outside the box on 23 minutes before a 73rd-minute penalty by Willian and an 88th-minute 20-yards finishing by Zappacosta completed the rout.

The Blues made it five wins from their last six games and go second on the league table on 45 points, pending the result from Old Trafford later on Saturday.

At Anfield, a brace by Mohamed Salah helped Liverpool come from behind to beat Leicester City 2-1.

Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi was in action throughout the game for the visitors, who got ahead early when Jamie Vardy poked home a Riyad Mahrez pass across the box after an error by Joel Matip.

Salah then equalised in the second half and saved the day for Liverpool when he turned Harry Maguire on the edge of the area to fire in his second of the day on 76 minutes.

The Egypt international makes it his 17th Premier League goal of the season in 17 appearances.

While Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will finish the year in fourth place, Leicester remain in eighth but have now gone six games without a win.

Results of Saturday’s Premier League matches:

Bournemouth 2-1 Everton
Chelsea 5-0 Stoke City
Liverpool 2-1 Leicester City
Huddersfield 0-0 Burnley
Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
Watford 1-2 Swansea
