Leicester City vs Watford

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were both in action for Leicester as they defeated Isaac Success’ Watford 2-0 at the King Power Stadium in a Premier League clash of Saturday.

While Ndidi and Success were on from the start for their respective sides, Iheanacho came in as a 72nd-minute substitute and a tackle on him led to a reduction of Watford to 10 men.

It was Jamie Vardy’s first-half penalty that set the hosts on their way to a comfortable victory in the 12th minute, before James Maddison then added a superb second to seal the win on 23 minutes.

With the result, Leicester climbed to seventh in the Premier League, leaving Watford, who have won just twice in their past 10 fixtures, in 10th.

Elsewhere, Eagles defender, Leon Balogun was brought in as a substitute for Brighton, who clinched an away 2-1 win over Huddersfield.

Goals by Duffy and Florin Andone were enough to make Mathias Jorgensen’s first-minute opener of no value as the visitors ended Huddersfield’s three-match unbeaten run.

The hosts were reduced t0 men after 32 minutes when Steve Mounie was penalised for a high challenge on Yves Bissouma, and Brighton took advantage of their number.

Victory lifts Brighton up a place to 11th while Huddersfield drop two places to 17th.

Champions Manchester City went five points clear at the top of the table with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium.

Newcastle lost 0-3 at home to West Ham, while Crystal Palace beat Burnley 2-0.
