RACE FOR TOP 4: Chelsea beat Watford to go third; Man Utd’s hopes over

​With the season almost over, Chelsea have climbed to the third spot of the Premier League after defeating Watford at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Blues, who saw off their visitors 3-0, went past Tottenham Hotspur, who fell to a disappoi​​nting 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday.

After a goalless first half, second-half goals by Loftus-Cheek, David Luiz and Gonzalo Higuain sealed the vital win for the Maurizio Sarri side.

Super Eagles forward, Isaac Success played a sub role for Watford, who take on West Ham next Sunday.

Chelsea welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to Stamford Bridge on Thursday for the second leg of their Europa League semi-final, before travelling to Leicester City for their final league game.

Still in the race for top four finish, Manchester United crashed in their run as they squander a one-goal lead to draw 1-1 at Huddersfield.

The Red Devils are out of the race for a Champions League spot next season as they remain sixth on the table with one game left and four points behind the top four.

Huddersfield, already relegated, earned a draw as Isaac Mbenza’s first goal for the club levelled Scott McTominay’s first-half effort for United.

Huddersfield are 11 points adrift at the bottom of the table and finish their season at Southampton next Sunday.

United to play Cardiff at Old Trafford.
