Ex Gov Shema carted away N400m govt vehicles –Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has accused former governor of the state, Ibrahim Shema of carting away state government vehicles worth N400 million.

According to the governor, who spoke to newsmen on Friday, Shema sold the vehicles to himself towards the tail end of his administration.

“Can you imagine a car of N78 million bought in 2014 was sold for just N3 million, another N10 million vehicle for N990,000. This is disturbing,” he said.

The Governor further disclosed that the vehicles in question were all below two years but were sold at 90% depreciation value. He also accused the Shema administration of embarking on financial recklessness when the curtain was drawing on the administration, plunging the state into financial crisis at the moment.

He also accused Shema and his cronies of personalising several government houses and properties in Kaduna and Abuja.

“We have so many of them; we are just taking our time and we shall soon make them public.

“Several elders and elites of the state had tried to mediate between us but to no avail as the present government insists that all funds missing should be refunded while the former government is maintaining its position that it did nothing wrong”, Masari said.
