Ex-Gov Shema’s move to stop alleged N11bn fraud trial at Supreme Court fails
Former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema on Friday turned himself in to the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The ex-governor reportedly arrived at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja around 9:30am.

The EFCC had on Wednesday September 14, declared Shema wanted alleging that he avoided invitation for questioning over allegation of N74.6 billion fraud while he was the governor of the state.

But Shema denied the commission’s claim, stating that the anti-graft body rushed to declare him wanted after it sent a letter of invitation meant for him to a wrong address, and even cancelled his proposed meeting with it.

The ex-governor claimed he had because of an appointment with the ant-graft agency, cancelled his trip to Saudi Arabia to honour the commission’s meeting fixed for June 28, only for them to cancel it.
