'Ex-gov Yero spent N2.1bn on juice, chocolate in 2014'
The Kaduna State Government has accused the administration of former Governor Mukhtar Yero of spending over N2.1 billion for entertainment of visitors in one year alone.
According to the state Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mohammed Abdullahi, who stated this in Kaduna at the weekend, the money was spent on sweets, juice and chocolate in 2014 while another N2 billion was spent on training for workers who did not need them.
According to Abdullahi, an accountant in the state was sent on a training meant for architects, insisting that though the Governor Nasir El-Rufai administration values training, it would only engage in real training that meet the needs of workers.
Speaking further, Abdullahi said the Yero administration was spending over N40 million on a monthly basis on rice and chicken for the Government House.
