Reigning FIFA Best Coach Claudio Ranieri has been named manager at French Ligue 1 side Nantes, according to reports on Tuesday.

Nantes, who finished 7th in the top-flight last season, were looking for a new manager after agreeing to let Sergio Conceicao return to his native Portugal in order to take over at Porto.

But the Ligue 1 side did receive a special dispensation from the French League to give the Italian the job as he has reached the manager’s age limit of 65.

The Italian technician led the former English Premier League champions Leicester City to glory in 2016.

He was however sacked by the club in February, a day after a 2-1 defeat at Spanish side Sevilla in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, with the club battling to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Italian will now head to France with the hope of having a great 2017-18 campaign with the Ligue 1 side, Nantes.
