Court remands 51-yr-old Polytechnic lecturer for rape, murder of 13-yr-old girl

A Court of Appeal sitting in Calabar has ruled against former Senate leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba and also upheld the election victory of Sen Sandi Onor, Hon. Mick Etaba and Hon Chirs Agibe.

Hon Justice T. Abubakar, Hon Justice P. O. Elechi and Hon Justice A. A. Wambai, while delivering judgment late on Saturday evening, unanimously affirmed the decision of the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal that sat in Calabar.

Recall that Dr Sandy Onor had been declared the winner of the election by the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal.

The three man appeal panel of the tribunal which delivered judgment on September 4th, 2019, had held that the appeal by Ndoma-Egba lacked merit.

The court also upheld the election victory of Mr Mike Etaba representing Obubra Etung Federal Constituency (PDP) against Mr Egbe Jabengo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
