Barring any last minute change, the Nigeria Football Federation may have a change in leadership as there are plans to impeach incumbent President, Amaju Pinnick, following the show of shame during the January 20th peace meeting called by the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung in Abuja.

Pinnick and Chris Giwa, a contestant in the election for the presidency of the NFF President almost came to blows at the meeting that was meant to unite them after they fell out.

The NFF board members are divided over Pinnick’s action but ripples.com.ng exclusive gathered that they are now united to use the latest incident to actualize their plan to impeach the NFF President who has been having running battles with his leadership style.

“The plot to replace Pinnick is gathering momentum now with his latest altercation with Giwa. Pinnick’s action was an insult to the Sports Minister who is backing Giwa indirectly,” revealed a very close source in the NFF secretariat.

It would be recalled that Chris Giwa who had claimed he was the rightfully elected president of the NFF following the August 26, 2014 election, announced plans to resume office on January 12, 2016 to reclaim his mandate and chase out the Amaju Pinnick-led executive that has been in office since 2014.

But in a bid to have peace and bring long lasting solution to the feud between both parties, Sports Minister Solomon Dalung on January 20 presided over a meeting between Chris Giwa and Amaju Pinnick, where both men turned a gentleman’s discussion to a rancorous affair; as an argument ensued, over who had eligible claim to the NFF Presidency hotseat.

Many stakeholders in Nigerian sports felt the meeting called by the Minister was not necessary as it will only reopen old wounds. It is said that Giwa is a long-time friend of Dalung back home from Plateau State.

The meeting ended in a deadlock as Dalung said another meeting will be convened on Wednesday, January 27.
