Explosion of one of five devices causes panic in New Jersey

The explosion one of five suspected devices found in a backpack near a train station which exploded while a bomb squad robot was trying to disarm it caused panic near the Elizabeth train station in New Jersey.

One of the suspected devices according to the mayor of Elizabeth, New Jersey, the Christian Bollwage, exploded shortly after 12:30am local time on Monday.

As at the time of filing in this report, the FBI was leading the investigation and working to disarm the other four devices.

The mayor added that two men called police and reported seeing wires and a pipe coming out of a package after finding it around 8:30 pm on Sunday, with no injuries reported yet, though, Bollwage said to expect more detonations.
