Justice Abang refuses Kashamu`s application to stop his extradition to U.S.

Despite being assured that due process of the law shall be adhered to at every stage, senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu has refused to exit his house in the Lekki area of Lagos, even as the NDLEA continues to keep watch over the premises.

Kashamu who was to appear at the Federal High Court in Lagos Monday failed to show up, even though his supporters stormed the court premises protesting his planned arraignment before the court.

He had filed the suit opposing the alleged plot to abduct him and extradite him to the United States to face charges in connection with a 1994 drug case.

Kashamu has locked himself up in his Lekki Phase 1, Lagos mansion since Saturday when operatives of the agency stormed his house to arrest him to fulfill a request by the US government for his extradition.
