April salary of civil servants across states is under threat with Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) session abruptly adjourned yesterday on account of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) failing to remit accurate returns to Federation Account.

Yesterday’s adjournment was second time in a sequence after a similar one in March during the Easter break. Chairman, Finance Commissioners Forum, Mallam Yunusa Mahmoud, confirmed FAAC postponement to New Telegraph in an interview.

Mahmoud described the postponement as an unfortunate development that prompted governors’ intervention. He said governors were holding a ” high level meeting with top officials of NNPC yesterday in Abuja”. “We have some challenges. The figures we have gotten is far less from what we expected to be remitted by NNPC.
