Facebook turns 12, declares ‘Friends Day’
Social networking site, Facebook is 12 today and to mark its anniversary, the platform has declared today as “Friends Day”.
It has unveiled a few new tools designed to help “further encourage our community to rally around their friends today”.
Reports say the unveiled tools are basically just simple diversions, but they really show the size and scale that Facebook has become in a dozen years.

The new tool lets you see how connected you are, on average, to all 1.6 billion other users of Facebook.
Considered to be one of the largest social media platforms today, Facebook’s userbase has doubled to 1.6 billion monthly active users (and over 1 billion daily) since 2011.
